Big number, right?! Across the USA In 2022, the food we wasted released the same amount of emissions as this many cars!

Hey, we’re Albi!

Did you know that each year in the US, we waste about 40% of all the food we produce?

But what about at Hartwick?

You know that gross new plastic container in the Commons that you’re putting your food scraps into? Well…that was us.

Over the past 6 weeks, we’ve been tracking food waste in Commons. With the help of the Hartwick Communications team, between now and the end of the semester, you'll be hearing a lot more from us as we begin teaching people about the impacts of food waste and what we can do at Hartwick to make our own impact.

Reducing food waste is one of the easiest and surprisingly most effective ways we can contribute to building a better planet.
