Food Waste and Earth Day go together like PB&J....

You probably knew food waste was bad for the environment. Did you know it was this bad?!

69,976,288

That’s how much carbon dioxide is emitted from the food wasted in colleges each week… the same as 800 households produce in an entire year!

HAPPY EARTH DAY EVERYBODY!

Earth Day this year falls on April 22, 2024 and even though it’s a Monday, you can count on the Albi folks throwing down to celebrate!

But before we get to those celebrations, we wanted to through some facts at you to try and showcase how important food waste can be in preserving our planet for future generations.

But don’t stop at Earth Day…imagine the difference if we focussed on wasting a little less every day of the year.

Don’t forget to keep checking back to the website Albi - Eat Smart where we’re uploading new results each week and slicing and dicing the data both at Hartwick and across the US!

Finally, if you enjoy hearing foreign people talk about food waste, give us a follow on Instagram.

We'll be posting our results regularly!

Keep up the amazing work and remember to always eat smart!

Best,

Matt & Harry
