New year, new...Elephant?

That's a whole lot of waste

Welcome back!

Can you believe it’s already been six weeks since the semester started?!

We’ve been taking a look back at how the first six weeks of the fall have stacked up against the spring, and it’s made for some pretty interesting reading…

In the first six weeks of the spring, we created a total of 3,417 lbs of food waste — this semester, that figure was up to 3,777 lbs!

Now…that might not sound like all that much. But when you start to think about waste over the course of a four-year degree, that small increase results in over 7,200 lbs of additional waste — roughly the same weight as an adult elephant!

Small changes might not feel like much, but over the time they can lead to significant impact.

Even the smallest of waste reduction adds up over time to have a significant impact on the amount of food we’re sending to landfill.

Remember, eating smart is a choice we make every time we have a meal.

What simple decisions will you make today to positively impact our future?

Best,

The Albi Team
